Dr. Sharon Kwok Pong is an artist, actress, and conservationist who founded AquaMeridian to focus on protecting endangered species and their habitats. The organization has successfully reduced demand for shark fins and protected marine habitats through various initiatives. The NGO was also successfully shut down the ivory trade in Hong Kong. AquaMeridian continues to advocate for endangered species affected by consumer demand through legislation, education, public campaigns, and community involvement.

The pandemic has increased the demand for pets, whilst immigration trends have led to many pets being abandoned. To address this issue, AquaMeridian established the "Hong Kong Parrot Rescue" volunteer network, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of exotic pets. This work requires significant medical and maintenance expenses. We aim to continue educating the next generation through lectures and workshops to ensure a sustainable future for humanity.
